Named 1992 Jul 14 for a farm near Kitami, Okhotsk, Hokkaido, Japan [MPC20521].

Companion discovered 2009 Jan 17 by D. Pray, P. Kusnirak, P. Pravec, J. Gross, W. Cooney, D. Terrell, and R. Durkee using lightcurve observations from Carbuncle Observatory, W.
