Named 1995 Mar 17 for the mythological Egyptian goddess [MPC24917].

Companion discovered 2003 May 08 by M. C. Nolan, E. S. Howell, A. S. Rivkin, and C. D. Neish using radar observations from Arecibo Observatory, Puerto Rico. Announced 2003 Jul 06 [N03c].
