Type of event: radiological contamination with tritiated paint
An incident in West Germany involving radiation exposure from tritium-containing paint caused one death from an exposure of 1,000 rad and 3 other significant exposures.
Consequences: 1 fatality (1,000 rad), 3 injuries.
