Type of event: x-ray accident
Improper and poorly supervised use of x-ray diffraction equipment resulted in localized radiation injuries to 6 individuals, including doses of 500-4,000 rad to the fingers, resulting in radiation burns and blistering.
Consequences: 6 injuries.
